CORNWALL AUSTIN Seven Club is searching for information on Austin dealerships that existed in Cornwall and Devon pre- and post-war until the Austin name disappeared.
The club says that there were 24 garages across the two counties which were designated "Austin Dealers", providing servicing and repairs for Austin cars and a further seven garages which were Austin "distributors".
"Some of these companies may still exist, albeit with a name change, others will have been bought-out and are now part of a nationwide chain, while others have long ceased trading and disappeared, " says the club's Doug Castle.
If any AutoWired readers has a knowledge of these companies, you are invited to write to Mr Castle at 8A West Close, Helston TR13 8LD.
The club is also interested in any Austin Seven spares that readers may be prepared to part with, in which case contact Andrew Jarmin on 01209 861212.
