Clio Cup entrant DW Racing is looking at making an entrance next year in the BTCC and is currently eye-ing up a deal with either an MG, Alfa Romeo or Euro-spec BMW!

Lets hope they make the right choice - because that'd give us someone else to cheer along to as well as Hughesy!

Lets hope he doesnt drive it like they drive in the Clio cup... although it would spice up the BTCC action a little :D

Thats if Jason makes it to the grid. The word elsewhere is that his deal with Maurer for their ZS's has fallen through.

Jason still has the V6 though, doesnt he?

Albeit an older car than the K2000 variety, WSR were still able to get some leading results with them at the time...

Rumour also has it that the V6 owned by Jason is having a K2000 4-pot fitted.

Although the V6 ZS was a good, quick car, Jason had so many failures during the 2004 season that it became a financil burden. Not cheap to get those things rebuilt! The 4-pot is much more reliable.

However, I'm not convinced there will be a single ZS on the grid next year in the BTCC. Maybe a couple of one-off appearances, but I predict thats all.

Paul, I feared you might be right when the 2005 season was over but renewed interest from Kartworld and now another team keeps me hoping...

I contact DW Racing today and this is the email received in response:

Hi Jeremy,

Let me just say thank you very much for your email.

With regards to your email it is indeed the 1st of Feb but unfortunately we
haven?t got official confirmation with regards to our sponsorship deal,
there
are still things to sort out, in terms of drivers, and some other small
issues.

The two drivers that have signed a "pre-drive contract" are great drivers
and
one has being linked to other teams in the BTCC. The other driver has drove
in
the Clio's and the Seats Cupra in recent years.

With regards to the cars it looks more and more likely it will be 2 x Alfa
156.

Hope this helps Jeremy, and I am sorry I can?t give you the big news we all
thought would be here.

Best Regards

So, this clears up one issue re MG's (see other thread) but at least it looks like there will be now two more cars on the grid come April!!!! Gow has done his stuff as we should now see over 20 cars on the grid!
