Great minds think alike. I spotted this on Saturday in the autotrader. Looks original as well as it comes with steel wheels and TD tyres.
A tidy car to be sure... but its not a Turbo! :D

Want me to take a look for you?
Rob, methinks the Turbo could be expensive! But still, a tuned A series under this one would be nice - would a K series fit?
In theory, you can make the changes to make the k-series fit, but its not a simple bolt-in job :o
That said, its been proven enough times that you can fit a 180 spec 'vvc' engine in there (not sure if theres room for the 1.8 K-series Turbo?) which would be a hoot to drive :D
All the parts to do so should be available from the 16v Rover Metro and 100 series cars?
Plus an engine - donated from a suitabley powered MG, Rover, Land Rover, Caterham or Lotus (depending which k-series you want) :)
Still, the thought of owning an MG Metro Turbo - and finding that to be a 1.8T K-series would be a lot of fun

Turbo MG Metro or normal MG Metro they are fun. Mine looked upmarket from the outside, untill I got in and took up the "bus drivers" driving position, mine ven went like hell when I had the ignition timing 5 deg out :girl:

Wished I had the spare room & cash for some of these classics that keep popping up.I loved the MG Metro & would very much like another.
Thinking about it... despite the massive Kudos of having a 1.8Turbo MG Metro... the cheapest way to get such a car is to buy a 16v Metro GTa/GTi and do an engine swap!
When these already-16v-compliant models are around £500 its hard to justify spending that on the 1.3 a-series and doing a conversion :o
Depends how much one wants the Kudos of having the MG badge I guess?

I don't think you can put a K series into the bay of an A series, and why would you want to? The A series Metros have their own character.
The Turbo'd K would never fit into the Metro due to the prominent bulkhead. I was never a fan of the A+ Metro Turbo much.
Went for a 'spin' in an elise engined 155bhp Metro last week. Interesting.....:yikes:
