Taken from this weeks Autosport Magazine:

WSR Chief Dick Bennetts has admitted his team could field a third car in the BTCC this year, such has been the interest in his RAC backed MG squad for 2006. He said: "We've had 21 drivers in touch about BTCC so far, and it's no secret that we're talking to Colin Turkington, Rob Collard, Dan Eaves and James Pickford. We're aiming to find a bit more team money this year so that we could run a third car. We've bought back the two cars we sold a year ago, so we've got three-and-a-half complete cars."

When will we find out more? Are we going to have to wait until Media Day to find out 1. how many cars and 2. who the lucky drivers are?

If so, less than two months to go then!!!

These 3 would be great: Colin Turkington, Rob Collard, Dan Eaves.
Please not Pickford or as suggested elsewhere Hines!

I am willing the season to start now - or at least, an announcement made on the drivers and now, a third entry.

I agree, Turks, Eaves and Collard would be a very strong line-up, dare I say the strongest team on the tour.

If a 3rd car happens, expect it to go to someone with financial backing.

I'll go with KelV6 on this one! Rob Collard, Dan Eaves and Colin would be my choice (plus Reidy if he fancied a return!!!) :drunk:

With three and a half cars that would be an ideal opportunity to bring Reidy back. As said before, Collard, Turkington, and Eaves would make a strong team but add Reidy in the remaining half and it would be unbeatable. I'm sure Anthony could could win races with half a car. After all thats how he normally brings the car home. :rotfl:

Looking even more likely that we will have 4 MGs to cheer. Dick has said that there will be 3 WSR cars and Jason is included in the list as a seperate entry being run by WSR.
Least thats how I read it so far.:happy1:

I've been surfing all BTCC related internet sites and have not found a snippet of this news. If it is true then fantastic news - I look forward to updating the 'Teams for 2006' thread! :happy1:
