Anyone on here watched this today?

Not normally a big fan of F1 but this could be the year to change that. Qualifying yesterday certainly started the proceedings with a few interesting drivers being knocked out of the dash for 1-10 on the grid.
Not too sure about this pandering round the circuit to lose fuel business and collecting "tiger tokens" as one commentator called it.

For those of you who missed it try and catch the highlights later. Kimi comes from the back of the grid for a podium finish. Ferrari mess up a wheel change big time and it got very close between MS and Alonso at one point (MS losing out only marginally)

Dawn, where were they showing the A1 GP?

Can't believe that out of the 29? people who have viewed this thread in over 24hrs only 2 girlies have watched or are even interested in this.

For the chaps viewing this and not understanding it's about very fast cars racing round a piece of track. Last year for the first time in ages MS = Michael Schumacher(Typo??) lost the title. Prior to last year many fans had become disheartened by the druggery and mockery of racing that F1 was producing basically a parade around the tarmac following the afore mention MS*

....BUT with a few tweaks here and there it would appear that they are trying to win back their fans and the first race of the year was definatly a lot tastier than it has been and worth watching IMHO. I believe the next round is next weekend. (6am which maybe a little early on a Sunday morning but it's repeated later in the day)

Go on give it a go and lets get some enthusiatstic or at least viable conversation on some motorsports going on.

We didn't get to watch it cos we were driving back from snowy Cumbria, but we listened to it on the radio. I was crossing fingers for Jenson, who seemed to be doing really well, but alas just missed to podium yet again. Things look very good for him this year though :thumbs2:

The A1 GP Deb was on sky sports 2 and 3 on sun afternoon .but the actual live race from California was on at 9pm british time,on sky sports 3 again .

With the Formula 1 new rulings ,i had to get one of my sons(the one who's training to be a mechanic ) to explain what they had changed !!
Now i know its a knockout system made up of three qualifying sessions.
At one point on sunday though i thought it was going to be the MS show all over again .
Glad Alonso won though .

And theres another one this weekend with the Malaysian GP on the 19th march .

Bummer we haven't got Sky Sports!

Bev, I'll let you off (this time) Will you be at Brands? I could do with the moral support. Been feeling down, back up to a 16 and not wanting to face anyone really - have had to spend all my free time buying a new wardrobe hence the lack of "DEBBIE" in recent months!

I missed almost all of last year and those races I did watch was usually for no more than 20 minutes. Whereas I think James Allen was right by saying there's around 5 very close competitors for the championship this year! Looks like a good year for motorsport with WSRs announcement today too!!
