Did I read right (Somewhere??) that with the introduction of the S2000 rule next year that the production class is also being re-introduced either 2007/2008?

I thought I read that the Production Class was being re-launched as a series but not as a 2nd class in BTCC.

Quite possibly - I thought it was alongside the BTCC package (if not in the BTCC race) but obviously not - looks interesting though and probably fairly cheap to run in too!
I probably saw the Dunlop MSA.... bit and jumped the gun!
Sounds like a great championship to get involved in! And a good stepping stone for the other championships - say the BTCC?
I think it would be great to watch some road-cars at it properly in near standard trim - it would certainly settle a few arguements :D
And there you are with a full X-Power stickered car ;)
A bit of further reading has lead me to raise an issue with section 5.10.2
Rear Fog Light
A minimum of two rear facing functioning red high intensity fog lights must be fitted and these are to use original lenses.
This is all very well... but cars such as the Ford Focus only come with a single rear fog lamp, fitted to the offside as manufacturer standard?
Its only the premium brands such as MG and Rover that come with twin rear fog lamps ;)

I read that too Rob and thought exactly the same.
I'm sure there will be allowances for such poorly made cars to get away with it.
Rob, sending my little 1.8 out in class B has been considered. A 2.5 would be ideal, but it all comes down to what I can do at the end of the day. Watch this space!
Watching with eager interest :D
If I see any cheap 180's turn up I'll let you know ;)

there was the one in Romsey that's had quite a few body panels taken from it.... most of the stuff you'd replace has gone, but the main stuff is still there (or at least i saw it on ebay a couple of days ago anyway....
would certainly make a good base for a cheap race car as it cannot be registered (or import tax on the retail price would have to be paid....)
I'll see if i can find the auction/phone number
This would make a great support race for the BTCC (are you listening Gow?) much better than the forumla BMW's.
Given the British weather, scooby turbo's would be a good bet I think. They'd be almost unbeatable in the wet. A ZS would have some stiff competition in the top class though.

Not if its prepared properly ;) :thumbs2:
it cannot be registered
All the cars competing in this years rounds (8 October) must be registered between 2001-2005 and be MOT passable.

here you go....

I got the front bumper off a MK1 180 which was being broken for no reason other than a forces guy would've had to pay import duty on it.
a lot of superficial stuff has been removed (i still have the front bumper tho...) but i saw it on ebay not long ago and the engine was still there.
might be worth asking if he still has the yellow v6 MG. the guy himself was annoyed about breaking it, so if you tell him you want what's left for a track car, I'm sure he'd be accomodating.
If you have a chat with him, I can have a look at what's left and give you a report.....
