Well, Collard has lost his appeal with the MSA.... and six places on the grid at Oulton i would guess...
What a joke!
I guess that went pretty much as expected tho, its a classic example of keeping bad people rich so that other bad people can stay in power.
Bit of a foregone conclusion I think. Maybe it's time WSR started playing the others at thier own game instead of trying to play fair.
Oh no thats just not fair for a tap http://bestsmileys.com/angry2/10.gif.......well we'll all just have to show him how much support he has at oulton .http://bestsmileys.com/excited/3.gif

Fairs fair i say, Gordon Sheddon got immediatley punished at Mondello and i liked Gows reasoning - if you ruin some one elses race we'll ruin yours.
Saw this at lunchtime. Seems to be that no matter how light or heavy the contact, it's the end result of it that determines the punishment (if any). There's been plenty of incidents that have gone unpunished all because of the other drivers skills in 'saving it'.
Not saying in any way that Matt doesn't have good skills but it was the lightest of taps (that I think was unavoidable) that caused the off and the vast amount of damage. Surely the main casualty out of all of this will be the racing. If harsh punishments are dished out, then the drivers will back off the close racing, just incase someone brakes in an unpredictable place.

From crash.net -
"RAC lose Brands Hatch appeal.
Rob Collard faces the prospect of a six place grid penalty at Oulton Park this weekend after losing his appeal into his exclusion from the third race at Brands Hatch.
Collard lost a second place finish in the race after he was found guilty of careless driving following a collision with Matt Neal that sent the defending champion spinning off into the barriers at Paddock Hill Bend.
Although an initial appeal into the decision was rejected by stewards at the circuit, Team RAC launched a second appeal to the Motor Sports National Court to try and overturn the decision but with that having also been rejected, Collard will now be forced to serve a six place grid penalty at the next possible opportunity.
The decision also means that the result of the third Brands Hatch race is now confirmed, with the championship points – which remained subject to change depending on the result of the appeal – now confirmed."

the six place drop in qualifying I though may have only been 5 if he qualified in 13 to drop him to 18th but its at the next available race where he has at least 6 cars behind him.
Rob just make sure you qualify 13th all season long! :p

You took the words right out of my mouth. Looks like we will have proccessional racing for a while until the memory of this fades.

Collard should be able to move up the grid quite quickly I would think, as the front runners tangle at the first corner!! Go for it Rob!!
