Hi Syd!
BTW, did you know there was a model of Volvo built in the UK?
Know which one it was and who built it?
Thank you all, nice to be here
Hi Martin
No, I have no idea who built a Volvo here but I do know that it must have been a reliable car otherwise it wouldnt have been a Volvo would it
Who was it Martin ??

The P1800 (like the Saint's if you are old enough to remember Roger Moore as teh Saint) was initially built in the UK by Jensen IIRC. :D

Syd, how is Lee since the last trip to the US? Please pass on a kiss from us :D
Hi Martin
Thanks for that, must remember it
I think that must have been the famous "white" one. That car almost got me into serious trouble back in the late 70s and I wasnt even the owner or the driver,
not a story I am particularly proud of Im afraid
Hi Bev
Lee is just great and causing a lot of trouble as usual.
Not going to the USA until early next year now, the reason for the delay should be a salutory lesson for all on here.
I was asked by a very very close friend for help in their business, I trusted this person completely, saw a chance to make some money, and invested very heavily in assisitng them to expand, and what came next ??
I was well and truely deliberately and carefully completely shafted and I mean SHAFTED with a capital shaft. I lost my large financial investment and half of my current business turnover and it came as a complete shock, I couldnt believe it but it happened.
We could have still gone to the USA but it would have left what I had left of my business at risk and so we decided to pospone it until 2006.
I have recovered the business loss and most of the financial loss already but it was really really hard work and needless to say my "friend" of several years has lost all of their expansion and quiet a bit of their current business and are struggleing and I have only just started returning the favour so their struggle is going to get a lot worse yet.
Dont waste your breath to sympathise with me, I was a fool, but I have learned yet another of lifes little lessons

Bl00dy H3ll.
It happened to our business too, some time ago. Certainly makes you thicker skinned, which is unfortunate I think.
Keep us in touch with how you are all doing :love2:
Hi Martin
Thanks for that but when riled I have been known to fight just a little on the dirty side, there are more ways than one to skin a cat so they say.
Another good saying is "it is not so much what you know but WHO you know" and that is the one that I play with at times like this
