Anyone know anywhere I can get my greasy mits on a Roll Cage for a Rubber Bumpered BGT... Or even a rough price...
Must remain tight lipped at the moment, all will be revealed in due course!
Steve!

MGB basic Historic cage from Custom Cages is around £400 but if you want to be safe and add some much needed stiffness to the body shell I have a guy who manufacturers cages for me to specific requirements. These are the absolute danglies and not a lot more for a full bolt/weld in multi point all singing all dancing jobbie. How much is depending on how far you want to go.
I would say if you need a cage, get the absolute best you can find. I might just save the occupants lifes but will certainly improve the life of the car too!

I shall be entering either the MGCC Peter Best Challenge or the MGOC Lancaster Insurance Cup in my new MGB GT, Just looking for a decent Cage to do the job. Have come across a company called 'safety devices' that do one for the BGT as well...
Would you recommend the 'custom cage' for this route... I can't see it being overly intense, but I definately want to stay safe!
Cheers...

Nice one, Steve! I have heard good reports and everyone seems to use Safety Devices.

Saftey Devices used to be made in the UK now they are all made in eastern europe.
We have UK SD cages in the ZR rally cars and they are good. I have heard supply is a problem with SD though, they only take orders for 10 cages or more, so you will need to find someone who has one in stock.
Custom are very good.
I would say its not about how intense the racing is or who the manufacturer of the cage is but the design of the cage. Always go for maximum protection
